Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

That’s the chants around the Wirral at the moment after our wonderful supporter Graham Dixon has gone to extreme lengths with his fundraising and decided to pledge with a sledge!

Graham Dixon 4Graham Dixon, a keen joiner over the years, has spent well over 100 hours making 11 sledges to sell to his friends and family with the full 100% of proceeds coming to Clatterbridge Cancer Research.

Graham drew on years of experience from making everything from model boats to steam engines, to fashion a steamer made from a bit of piping and a wallpaper steamer to bend the ash wood.

After spending around 9 hours on each sleigh carefully bending the wood and the metal to the fit the user's dimensions and turning his house into a workshop, they were done!

Graham Dixon 2Graham’s kindness and thoughtful idea raised £270 for Clatterbridge Cancer Research and will certainly keep everyone who bought them entertained for many years. And the question on everyone’s lips when he brought one in to show us was “Can you make us some as well?!”

I think after the amount of hours put in, there’ll be absolutely 'Snow' chance until next year.

If you have a unique fundraising idea like Graham’s get in touch and let us know your story.
