Clatterbridge - Cancer Research - Understanding Cancer

David Frederick Moore

Edward and David MooreDavid tragically lost his battle for life in November 2007, just five months after diagnosis of a brain tumour.

Total raised to date in Dave’s memory:

£7,782.96

David was a fiercely intelligent, kind and gentle man with an offbeat sense of humour - everyone who knew him will remember the one liners!  His sometimes black sense of humour saw him through much of his illness, declaring he would have a t-shirt printed with ‘Not dead yet!’ to answer the many questions about how he was feeling during his treatment! It also showed his great strength and acceptance of the illness and the prognosis he was facing.

Christine and David MooreDavid loved his family and was very proud of his son Edward who was born in 1999. He also loved his home and garden, and being part of a great community in his small Welsh village.

David was an avid supporter of Liverpool Football Club and closely followed cricket and rugby on the television - the 6 Nations being a good excuse to enjoy a pint with friends whilst supporting England!  His unique bowling technique has also become legendary in Maeshafn Cricket Club!

David first grew interested in supporting Clatterbridge Cancer Research whilst being treated at Clatterbridge and began discussing holding Christine and David Moorea music festival in Maeshafn. Due to his short illness, David did not survive to see his ideas come to fruition. On the 28th June 2008 Maeshafn celebrated his life with a great day of music and over £4000 was raised - no small achievement for a community of its size!

Brain tumours remain a relatively rare form of cancer with a significantly poor prognosis for many diagnosed. David had a grade 4 tumour and could only be offered palliative treatment.

Edward and David MooreDave's wife and son have set up this tribute fund to remember a very treasured husband and father, and they hope that you can give your support.

All donations given in Dave’s memory will be used to help research carried out by Clatterbridge Cancer Research.
