Regularly donating a fixed sum of money from your salary is a simple way to give. It's also the most tax effective, because donations are deducted before you pay tax.
For example, if you donate £10, only £8 comes out of your salary and the taxman pays the rest. Or if you're on a higher tax rate (40%), only £6 comes out of your salary and the taxman pays the rest.
Happy days – it’s payday!
By giving from your salary each payday, you will be helping us to fund research to advance the understanding of cancer for the people of Merseyside and Cheshire. The fact that we know how much and how often you will donate means that we can budget effectively and plan ahead, and you will know that Clatterbridge Cancer Research is able to make the best use of your regular, tax-free donation.
How your money could help us make a difference......
If you give us £5 a month, we could buy 100 petri dishes, essential for growing tumour cells in order to study their behaviour (100 petri dishes would enable up to 10 weeks of research).
- If you give us £10 a month, we could buy 1,000 microtubes which are used to perform reactions on tumour cells (1000 microtubes would enable up to four months of research).
- If you give us £25 a month, we could buy enough pipette tips for one day’s intensive research which are essential for measuring small quantities of liquid in order to set up reactions to characterise and understand tumour cells.
